What I have been up to lately

I noticed that I haven't blogged in a while so I am jsut gonna say that I had a great weekend this past Memorial Day. Saw many friends, traveled thru 4 states, ate a lot of BBQ. Hung out with Mr. K and the Kevinitos. Got some housework done. Now I can get into my summer mode :)

DC Pics

Here are some pics from Mr K's phone. We went to DC last Saturday and walked (and walked and walked). We went to two Smithsonians, the Capitol, Supreme Court, Ronald Reagan building, Lincoln, Vietnam and Korean memorials. It was a beautiful day out. The night before we saw the Phillies at Camden Yards (it was wayyyy cold that night) and had a great dinner in Little Italy. I highly recommend Amici's on S. High St if you are ever in the area. My calves are still recovering :)

Philly here I come!

I recently found out that I can transfer to our Philly office. I am so excited! I am nervous and sad to leave MD but it is time for a change. I am still working out the logistics but it looks like I am outta here sometime this summer. Now I have to convince Leo that NJ is a great place to live. Sure......

The big meeting.

Mr. K. is due in the next hour or so and is going to meet my family for the first time. We were planning on making the official visit next Saturday but I came up last night to see my family. Mr. K. is going to be driving up to Brooklyn and visit briefly with la familia and then we are heading back to Philly for an APO event. I think that he is more nervous than I am.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting the kevinitos (Mr. K's kids) for the first time. I was kinda nervous as this was a really big step for us. I knew that Mr. K was really nervous when he reached for my hand as he was drivng and I could see that he was shaking. I grabbed his hand briefly to let him know that everything was ok. The meeting went well and we are allowed to continue dating.

I'll post more once the weekend is over. CIAO!

MMM Bacon.

Men ask , why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? Here's an update for you: Now days, 80% of women are against marriage, why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage. -Andy Rooney

What I am reading part 3.

I managed to finish "The Fountainhead" last month when I was in Denver. This month I am going to start "Atlas Shrugged". It took me forever to find. I had to go to three bookstores to locate it. The funny thing was that I found the book at the very same Barnes and Noble where I originally bought "The Fountainhead". Fate? Maybe. I haven't read more than a few pages so I need to settle down one night this week and get into it. I also downloaded the biography "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow to listen to at work. FYI: If you join Audible for a year you get a free mp3 player. The bio is over 37 hours long, luckily I work 9 hours a day :)

Comfort Food

I had one of my famous panic attacks on the way home today. It wasn't the traffic it was a reaction to how low my bank account was. I can never seem to make enough money no matter what I do. Thank god I had enough to cover the unexpected car expense last week. Anyway, I needed something to calm me down or I was going to do some serious damage to my car or to myself. I decided that I needed something to eat. I have food issues and I use food to calm me down. The think that did the trick for me today was Ramen noodles. Cheap (low bank account) and filling. Hey, there is enough sodium there to kill a small animal but it did the trick for me. I stopped by the supermarket on the way home from work. They were 6 for a dollar. Woo Hoo! MMM ramen noodles...

Restless...

I consider myself a somewhat restless person. I tend to move a lot from place to place. I don't know if it is beacuse I just get bored of things or maybe I am just running away from something. As many of my readers know I am trying to get my ass of back north of the Mason-Dixon line. It doesn't seem that I am going anywhere anytime soon though. But in the event that I do move these are (apparently) the best cities for me to live in.

Dodge Drama Part 4

Well this time she got me. On my way to my interview my car decided to not want to go any further than the Dunkin Donuts 2 blocks from my apt. I stopped there for some breakfast before I headed up to Philly. I put the key in the ignition and nothing. Car would not start. After a frantic call to my mechanic, he gave me the number of a tow company. I called my ex who stayed with me until we got to the garage. Three hundred dollars later and a new ignition switch and I was on my way to Philly. Missed an important interview but I am pretty sure that I can reschedule (hopefully). Had a great weekend though: Phillies game, went to go see the new Hitchhiker's Guide movie, dinner and bowling with some friends (and a special loved one of course). I even got two strikes and some spares. All in all a very good weekend :)
