So excited!

I just bought this t-shirt from the Project Runway Store at Bravo TV online. Daniel V has a cool "Free Tim Gunn" shirt that was a second choice. It should ship this week :)

Auf wiedersehen, muthafucka!

A good recap of the PW2 reunion special. I was laughing my ass of at some of the exchanges between some of the contestants.

/is it me or is Daniel Franco kinda cute?

Project Runway Rumor!

Rumor has is that Kara also had a show furing Fashion Week and that instead of it being a three way run for the winner she is also going to be considered. How fantastic! I am still pulling for Daniel V. Can't wait to see who wins.

Getting my rifle loaded.

Sometimes a song comes on that completely defines how you are feeling at a particular moment. Here's mine today....

Sing it David Lee (Roth)!

Cuz I ain't got nobody
Nobody cares for me, nobody, nobody cares for me
I'm so sad and lonely
Sad and lonely, sad and lonely
Won't some sweet mama come and take a chance with me
Cuz I ain't so bad
Sad and lonesome all the time
Even on the beat, on the, on the beat
I ain't got nobodyNobody cares for me, nobody, nobody

Cause if no one defends you, gotta bear arms.

Jumping on the Tim Gunn Bandwagon

Out.com has a funny interview with the "house mother" on Project Runway, Tim Gunn. Part 2 will be coming in a few weeks. Here's a spoiler: he too hated Daniel Franco and Zulema.

How to NOT Answer a Phone

My boss has been checking into the office today- so basically he is working from home. I saw his name on the caller id on my work phone and thinking that he was in the office I answer "Yeah" in my usually slighty sarcastic tone. DOH! Never, ever answer a call placed by your government boss with a "Yeah". I am gonna get a talkin to one of these days I know it.

Resolution: To start eating better

I am still on this no eating meat kick. I am gonna start by eliminating red meat. And no effing fast food. No McDonalds, Burger King etc. And I am going to be a lot more selective with what I order when I do take-out Chinese.

I have a few really good recipe sites bookmarked that I am going to check out. One recipe that I saw that I like is a orzo shrimp concoction. I found it at Cooking For Engineers. It looks really good. I am going to continue to eat seafood cause I love me some googly-eyed shrimp!

I won't ever eat meat again!

I am listening to the audiobook Fast Food Nation and I have to tell ya I have lost all appetite for meat of any kind. I almost hacked this morning when the reader was talking about the horrendous conditions at a meat packing plant and the crap they feed animals. Ugh. Thank God I started eating googly-eyed shrimp again. :)

In other news....

I made an awesome quiche last nite for dinner. I had a deep dish pie crust in the freezer that I was planning on using for a pie. Instead I whipped up 6 eggs, two handfulls of shredded cheese, two turkey sausage links, three slices of bacon and some garlic. Baked at 350 degrees for 50 minutes and out came the best quiche I have ever made. YUMMO! I ate two slices while watching the 2nd DVD in the set of the 1st season of Project Runway. (My new addictionn).

I just read that the EPA has voted to name Teflon a likely carcinogen. Doh! Better buy your All-Clad cookwear now before they start disappearing! I'm saving up for a few pieces to add to my kitchen:

12" Stainless FryPan
3 Qt Saute Pan w/Lid
16 Qt StockPot w/Lid

Better start getting my pennies together cause this stuff aint cheap!

Philly Rant: Security Guard In My Building

I was gonna start today by posting a Philly Rave but then I had a slight run-in with the security guard in my office building. Here is some background on where I work. Most of the building houses clinics for one of the big hospitals in the area. The floor that I work on houses a few Fed agencies. Since I started working in Philly no one has asked me for any kind of id as I come into the building. But this month this one particular security guard has asked me twice for an id. I let the first one brush off but today he asked me for id and he let a man into the elevator bank and didnt say anything to him! I was effing furious. He makes me dig into my bag and doesnt ask this other guy? I ranted in the elevator and this dude had the nerve to say, "Maybe he just wanted to see your pretty face". Douchebag, he's lucky I didnt slug him.

This pretty little face better get back to work or there won't be anymore secuirty guards to harass her.

LMFAO (aka that's my line).

From Overheard in NY

"Yeah, and my mom married an alcoholic."

Guy: Dad, you had to see this broad; she must have been 200 to 250.
Dad: Like you're some prize. You are 40, divorced, have 3 kids and live at home with your parents.

Happy VDay!

Taken from census.gov

One legend has it that Valentine’s Day originated to commemorate the anniversary of the death of St. Valentine, a Roman clergyman who was executed on Feb. 14, about 270 A.D., for secretly marrying couples in defiance of the emperor. According to another, the holiday began as a Roman fertility festival. Americans probably began exchanging handmade valentines in the early 1700s. In the 1840s, Esther Howland, a native of Massachusetts, began to sell the nation’s first mass-produced valentine cards.

Johari Window-Borrowed from Muse

The Johari Window was invented by Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingram in the 1950s as a model for mapping personality awareness. By describing yourself from a fixed list of adjectives, then asking your friends and colleagues to describe you from the same list, a grid of overlap and difference can be built up.

I'm so excited!

Two WEGMAN'S grocery stores are opening up in SJ. One in Cherry Hill and one in Mt. Laurel (2/19/06)! You have not lived until you have shopped at Wegaman's. I used to frequent the one off of Erie Blvd when I lived in Syracuse and I was so sad when I threw outr my shoppers club card when I moved. They have everything and they have great prices. I went online and applied for a new one! I am gonna do the dance of joy when it arrives!

Here is the 411 on the new stores.

The Squirrel Strikes Again!

This is one of the funniest Foamy cartoons that I have seen in a while. I especially like the line about divorced women "She's not divorced...she's certified pre-fucked". Classic.

Quotes to Live By (Via Pres. Calvin Coolidge)

"Don't expect to build up the weak by pulling down the strong"

"The right thing to do never requires any subterfuge, it is always simple and direct"

A little late but better than never.

YAY! I hung up my Ravens Calendar today! So what if the season is over, now I can countdown to the beginning of 2006 football season. :)

Laughter is the best medicine.

My uncle first showed me this cartoon when I was at his house for Xmas. I thought, "What funny timing? Is this a sign"? I recently went thru a couple of situations where someone I know kept insisting that I acknowledge her whenever she said hello to me. We don't like each other and she kept playing this game to see if she could annoy me. And when I didn't say hello back she would throw tantrums. Luckily the last time we met she didnt even acknolwedge me which is exactly what I wanted. So, anyhoo, I found this on the New Yorker site. That reminds me check this site out. If you like NYer cartoons you'll be sure to like this.
